It has been within the last few years that I have come to really gain an understanding of my introversion and my strengths. Prior to that, I spent a lot of time trying to be something I wasn’t and of course I have plenty of regrets. I have learned to look back on the failures, learn from them, and move forward. The more I study successful people, the more I realize that some type of failure is usually part of the road to success.
The late Jim Rohn, an author and motivational speaker, was flat broke in his twenties, but a millionaire by his early thirties. He attributes this to changing his “philosophy,” the way he was thinking. Jim Rohn is known for his many motivational quotes. Here’s one that I love:
You cannot change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction overnight. tweet
I have experienced this in my own life. A few years ago, I did change my direction to move my life to be more in line with the course I want to follow. I still have many more goals I want to accomplish, but I have continued to enjoy success along the way. I had talked about writing a blog for years before I actually started. One day, I decided not to wait any longer. That day, I took that first step and now this is my 91st post! It is not always easy, but it has been very worthwhile. Hopefully, some of you are finding my thoughts and experiences helpful in your own journey.
If you are not living the life you want, start the change now. Take that first step towards where you want to be.
