I was having a conversation with a negative person today and she was complaining about others on the team, especially the ones that were not like her. She definitely has some good qualities, but also has her weaknesses, just like we all do. But speaking with her got me thinking how important it is to recognize the positive in people and their own unique strengths. Instead of finding fault with others, we should try to talk about what strengths they have. For example, instead of talking about how “quiet” someone is, talk about how “brilliant” they are. Check out my list of possibilities above. Of course, there are many more.
